Main GUI Application
The DupScout main GUI application provides the user with the ability to detect duplicate files, review detected duplicates, export reports to the HTML, text and Excel CSV formats, select duplicates that should be removed and execute numerous types of duplicate files removal actions.
Actions Preview Dialog
Before executing duplicate files removal actions, DupScout shows the actions preview dialog allowing one to select/unselect specific removal actions.
Pie Charts
The pie charts dialog is capable of showing the amount of wasted disk space and the number of duplicates per class, category, extension, user name, last access, modification and creation times, etc. In addition, the user is provided with the ability to copy the chart image to the clipboard allowing one to easily integrate DupScout charts into presentations and documents.
Search Duplicates Profile Dialog
The profile dialog allows one to specify disks, directories and/or network shares that should be processed. In addition, the user is provided with the ability to search duplicate files in all network shares in one or more servers or NAS storage devices.
Profile Dialog 'Options' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Options' tab allows one to specify a default report title, the type of file signature algorithm to use, a maximum number of duplicate file sets to display and optionally specify a file scanning filter.
Profile Dialog 'Rules' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Rules' tab allows one to limit the duplicate files detection process to specific types of files according to one or more of the specified file matching rules.
Profile Dialog 'Performance' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Performance' tab provides the user with the ability to control the speed of the duplicate files detection process, the file scanning mode and the number of processing threads that should be used.
Profile Dialog 'Exclude' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Exclude' tab provides the ability to exclude one or more subdirectories from the duplicates detection process.
Profile Dialog 'Actions' Tab
The profile dialog's 'Actions' tab allows one to define one or more automatic, rule-based policies specifying what duplicate removal actions to perform when specific types of duplicate files are detected. By default, DupScout will select the required duplicate removal actions according to the specified policies and show the regular actions preview dialog allowing the user to confirm or reject the proposed actions.
Command Line Utility
The DupScout command line utility, which is available in DupScout Ultimate only, is capable of detecting duplicate files, exporting reports to the HTML, text and Excel CSV formats and executing automatic duplicate files removal actions.
SQL Database Integration
The report database dialog, which is available in DupScout Ultimate, displays reports that were submitted to the database and allows one to search reports by the report title, host name, date or directories that were processed. In order to open a report, just click on the report item in the report database dialog.
Hosts Analysis Dialog
DupScout Ultimate is capable of analyzing duplicate files reports submitted from multiple servers and desktop computers and displaying various types of charts showing the amount of duplicate disk space and the number of duplicate files per host.
Users Analysis Dialog
DupScout Ultimate provides the ability to analyze duplicate files owned by multiple users and detected on one or more servers or desktop computers and display charts showing the amount of wasted disk space and the number of duplicate files per user.
Duplicate Files History Charts
The history charts dialog allows one to show how the number of duplicate files and the amount of wasted disk space are changing over time in one or more servers or desktop computers.
